I have fond memories of growing up in suburban Detroit, Michigan. Sunday dinners at our home always included a special dessert created by my mom. I swear I don’t know how she managed to pull it off with managing a family of 10! The anticipation of having the dessert and the joy it created, both in us eating it and my mom serving it, resonated with me. My mom was a huge influence, my mentor you could say.
Fast forwarding to adulthood: I left a job with great benefits and pay to pursue the dream of owning a bakery. In 1996, my husband Richard and I purchased a small bakery in Westminster, MD and established a decent customer base there. After several years, I decided to go a different route by renting a commercial kitchen. So I knocked on many restaurant doors bearing a tray of desserts in hand. My diligence paid off! I currently rent a commercial kitchen in the Sykesville/Eldersburg, MD area.
My formal training was done at the Pennsylvania School of Culinary Arts in Mt. Joy, PA. I graduated with honors at the top of my class.
All business is done on a preorder basis. What this means is that I become your Personal Pastry Chef. Everything is fresh baked on the premises to fill your order. This helps keep the costs down so we can pass the savings on to you. We strive to give you the best products by using high quality ingredients. It is best to call or email us in advance to check on availability. We would love to work with you to create a memorable cake or dessert!
